CURRICULUM

Emma del Cerro Kelham, whose mother is English and father Spanish, was educated both in England and Spain and graduated from the University of Granada with a law degree.

My first passion was for the world of public events and I became immersed in this field over 20 years ago.

Finally the long-hoped for moment of motherhood arrived, totally changing my life, whereupon an article in the press aroused my interest in learning about Montessori philosophy and in searching for a centre which would offer this approach towards an attitude to life and towards the growth and development of early childhood; an approach which helps children to learn by themselves, and transforms learning into an entertaining activity.

Children learn better if they do so at their own pace: in order to encourage this, we need to pay great attention to them and monitor their expectations.

In Toy Box, we follow the foundations of the Montessori Method: an education that encourages a child’s active participation in the learning process, cooperation as the fundamental social skill and an education which will bring happiness to the human being.

All this has motivated us to take over the management of the centre and commit ourselves to forming young children, including our own daughters and offering them what we consider to be the best education available. Our greatest motivation: our daughters.
